This Italian restaurant will bring hand-crafted fare to Charlotte's South End next month.

North Italia plans to open its 7,500-square foot location in The RailYard development — the concept’s first in North Carolina — on Nov. 13.

Expect a menu focused on scratch-made Italian favorites with fresh ingredients. Think house-made pastas, pizzas and small plates.

There’s the White Truffle Garlic Bread with house-made ricotta, mozzarella, grana podano cheese and herbs or the Tuscan Kale Salad with crispy pancetta, charred grape, apple, pistachio, breadcrumbs and Parmesan vinaigrette. The house Bolognese and chef’s daily pizza selection are among the specialties.

Then there are desserts such as the Salted Caramel Bundino or Spiced Orange Pistachio cake.

North Italia will offer lunch dinner and weekend brunch.

The restaurant is hiring for all positions. Job fairs will be held from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.  Oct. 14 through 19 and Oct. 21 to 26 at the restaurant. Candidates can also apply online.

The RailYard received its certificate of occupancy this summer. Companies like coworking giant WeWork and tech-consulting firm Slalom have since settled in, and employees are already working at the two-building project, which includes about 300,000 square feet of office space and 30,000 square feet for retail. The mixed-used development, which also includes micro residential units and space for additional restaurant options, is among the finalists in CBJ's Heavy Hitters Commercial Real Estate Awards.
