Beacon Partners of Charlotte says the Apex Gateway project is set to break ground next week. The more than 1 million-square-foot development will have a first phase anchored by three light industrial buildings totaling 480,000 square feet. Plans also call for life sciences and medical office space.
Beacon Partners started construction on a 115,831-square-foot class A industrial building in Garner near its Beacon Commerce Park and Interstate 40. Beacon Partners Triangle Market Leader and Partner Walker Gorham said while there are no tenants signed on yet, the company is in negotiations with several prospective tenants.
The Addison is a 68,000-square-foot, nine-story office building at East Morehead and McDowell streets. It was built in 1926 as Charlotte’s first luxury condominium and later converted into office space and expanded in 1997.
