This week’s Charlotte Business Journal lists the area’s largest commercial real estate developers, ranked by local square feet developed last year and over the past five years.

Childress Klein Properties Inc. tops both Lists. The company developed over 6 million local square feet from 2011 to 2015, including 2.4 million square feet in 2015.

Beacon Partners is a big mover on both Lists, moving up 10 places to No. 3 on the List ranked by 2015 development. Beacon developed 821,000 local square feet over the past five years, 771,000 of it in 2015. Read about Beacon Partners’ analysis of the local industrial market, its plans for a 310,000-square-foot spec building in Concord and its plans to develop an $80 million distribution business park called Metrolina Logistics Park on the 94-acre site that now houses the Metrolina Tradeshow Expo in north Charlotte in previous CBJ coverage.
