Jon joined Beacon in 1995 as a leasing agent, and has served in a variety of development, acquisition and asset/ investment management roles during his tenure at the company. Today, Jon oversees Beacon’s industrial investment platform, with his primary responsibility being the growth of Beacon’s 6.5 million SF industrial portfolio through acquisition and development.
Jon currently serves the Charlotte community through his work on the KIPP Charlotte (a free, open-enrollment, college preparatory public school program that provides traditionally underserved communities with best-in-class education) Board of Directors, and the Dowd YMCA (former Board Chair). Professionally, he is a past Charlotte chapter president and former national board member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). On a civic level, he is integrated in various City land development stakeholder and focus committees – and Chaired the Mecklenburg County Building Development Commission for five years. He’s especially proud of his stint on the Board of Directors for The John Crosland School (formerly, Dore Academy), which serves children with learning disabilities, where his oldest son was transformed during his six years of attendance.
Jon is a graduate of Davidson College, where he received a B.A. in economics and German.
Jon started his career with Beacon in 1995. He has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience.
