Charlotte-based Beacon Partners has acquired a fully leased industrial building in the region.
The developer paid $7.34 million in July for an industrial building at 3389 Catawba Industrial Place, just off Interstate 40 in Catawba County. The building is 137,785 square feet, has 7,156 square feet of office space and 35-foot clear heights, according to Beacon's website.
It was previously occupied by Shurtape Technologies, a home and office products manufacturer headquartered in Hickory. But Shurtape vacated the building and Beacon declined to name the tenant who took it over.
The building sits on a 21.4-acre parcel. Beacon also acquired a neighboring, 5.9-acre parcel as part of the deal, real estate records show.
The acquisition is yet another regional industrial move made by the Charlotte developer. Most notably, Beacon is developing the 288-acre Carolina Logistics Park in Pineville. The firm closed on land purchases for the park last week and it's expected to accommodate up to 3.5 million square feet of industrial space.
